Day 2

02

Our plane landed in Doho, Qatar at 4:30 PM local time. Throughout the day we had countless people ask us what our shirts meant and what we were doing. It was a pleasure to explain that we were not a church but the Baylor Accounting department, and that the focus of our mission was vocational. We were delayed in getting our information processed, so we decided to have a small devotional in the corner of the airport. The devotion focused on how we were to use our vocation to spread the gospel. Accounting is not something that people correlate with missions, which is one of the reasons I am so excited about the work that is going to be done on this trip. We are not just showing up to these people with resources, meeting them, and then leaving; we get to teach the Ugandans so that they may continue to provide for themselves when we leave.

Devotional in an airport corner while waiting for our documents to be processed.
